For the tenth show at Essays and Observations, Galerie C&V will show selected results of an investigation begun in 2009. This inquiry revolves around a catalogue produced for an exhibition at Pace Gallery in November 1970. The show, titled “A Decade of California Color”, purported to present the essence of Los Angeles’ and US West Coast art for a New York audience. The artist selection was prescient, with Larry Bell, Robert Irwin, John McCracken and Ed Ruscha among the thirteen artists presented.
